If his Supreme Court Justice appointees don’t get rid of the 2nd Amendment altogether, Obama will at minimum outlaw certain guns, prohibit private sales of guns, among other things. How will that keep guns out of the hands of CRIMINALS who do not care what the laws say? That only keeps guns out of the hands of the law abiding American citizen who wants to protect his family and house.
Why would a criminal who is already risking 25 years to life for robbery or murder even care about what the law says on buying guns?
Barack does not plan to change the 2nd Amendment, that’s a ridiculous suggestion with NO BASIS IN FACT.

A president doesn’t legislate – congress does. Of course he can encourage congressmen to his way or he can veto enactment if he disapproves.
He wants to get rid of automatic rifles, we can still own guns…. no one can change amendments….. so quit acting like your going to be a member of victimization.

You mean guns like machine guns? Good, I hope he does. Nobody needs a freakin machine gun or some of those ridiculous sniper military style guns. A simple hand gun does the job for self defense in the event that it would be needed.

Obama will NOT be changing the Second Amendment. He has no desire to because he agrees with a citizens right to own a gun, he just doesn’t agree with people going to the store to buy a dozen machine guns.
I don’t know that Uzis were part of the second amendment. As for the right to bare arms the VP himself has a concealed weapon permit and carries one.
Don’t believe everything that was said during the campaign, while there is some truth because it’s an UZis, he didn’t say all guns or rifles.
You are confused. Obama has stated on numerous occasions that he fully supports the 2nd Amendment and private citizens right to purchase guns. That will not change. He is for toughening the regulations on certain types of guns, namely handguns and assault rifles. That is not to say he will ban the purchase of such weapons, it merely means the sale of those types will be more closely regulated.
I’ve never heard Barack Obama say he plans to change the Second Amendment, and neither have you. And here’s why. Neither the President of the United States, nor the Supreme Court, has the authority to change the Constitution.
Stop speading lies.
If your paranoid, think of it this way. The faster we get rid of guns, the faster Barack Obama becomes leader of the world, the faster we all die.
Or if your mellow, you can think of it this way: “I voted for McCain, and when Obama destroys the country I can say ‘Ha Ha I told you so.”
Of course, that is only the most Anti-Obama scenario.
If you were a real American you would have read the US Constitution and would know the following:
The Supreme Court CANNOT get rid of parts of the Constitution. They can only rule if laws are Constitutional.
The President, Obama or otherwise, CANNOT outlaw certain guns or prohibit private sales of guns. That would require laws, and ONLY Congress can pass laws…not the president.
How can you call yourself an American when you are so ignorant concerning the basis of our entire governmental system?
Go read the Constitution…it is your duty as an American.
SPACE CASE obviously hasn’t done their homework. On every past vote concerning the restriction of our right to bear arms, Obama voted for it. The proof of what’s in his head shows up in his vote. It’s amazing how people refuse to actually look at the facts – but then I guess the truth is not important to them.
When guns are outlawed only outlaws will have guns; and how easy then it is to control the masses when they have no way to defend themselves. As Benjamin Franklin said of our right to bear arms “….They are the people’s libertys’ teeth”.
Obama has mentioned no plans to repeal the 2nd amendment.
The Supreme Court can’t repeal any part of the Constitution. They can only interpret what is there.
Only Congress can move to repeal an amendment, and even then that motion must be ratified by an overwhelming majority of states to succeed.
So, considering that it’s difficult to alter the Constitution to begin with, plus the fact that Obama has stated no such plans to alter the 2nd amendment, this is entirely a nonsensical and paranoid fear.

I’ll decide for myself what I need and dont need, thank you very much. You dont get to decide for others what they need or dont need. Why I “need” those? None of your business. Its my right to own them and I dont have to explain to you why I want or “need” them.

If he doesnt agree with people going to the store to buy a dozen machine guns (which by the way is impossible. You need a special federal license to own machine guns as well as to sell them), then he doesnt agree with a citizens right to own a gun.
If I dont agree with people going to the store to buy a certain newspaper I dont like, does that mean I agree with peoples right to freedom of the press and speech?
I voted for McCain. Don’t get your balls in a bunch. Two or three supreme court justices should be retiring in Obamas first term. But here’s the thing about that. All of them are liberal. So that’s good news for conservatives because it’s not going to change he ratio of conservative judges verses liberal ones.
Obama is a Constitutional Lawyer. He knows that the only way to change the Constitution is by a Constitutional Convention. And that can not be created by the President, that must be done by an act of Congress. And enough members of Congress knows the dangers of convening a Constitutional Convention that they will not allow it.
What Obama wants to do is extend an existing law banning assault weapons.
Make no doubt about it people. Obama has said that he understands the 2nd Amendment is an Individuals Right to firearms. However what really matters is not what he says but what he does. He has consistently voted in favor of the most heinous types of gun control ever thought up by those who seek control over us. No one can ever say he will not take our guns from us just because he publicly says he won’t. Anybody can and I hope will do a search to see what his voting record is on this issue and will inevitably come up with the same conclusions I have.
All he has to do is chip away little by little…

The gun manufacturers, gun retailers and the NRA are scaring you into buying guns before it’s too late. People, the 2nd Amendment has lasted for hundreds of years. All of a sudden, a president, a majority democratic congress and the Supreme Court are going to band together and take all your coveted handgun/automatic rifles away? Puh-leeze. I wonder just how accurate the NRA is on Obama’s voting record on gun control. Don’t you think it would be in the NRA and Gun companies/financial best interest to distort,skew and misrepresent the facts to inflate gun prices and promote sales? When you go to your gun show/swap meet. I doubt you will ever hear the truth that your odds of not being able to buy that M-16 are not going to change whether it’s Obama, McCain or the 2nd coming of Ghandi
