I’ve herd alot of both . Some people think he will be just like Kennedy ( who is considered one of our countries best president’s to date ) but there are some , mostly people who don’t like barack , that fear he will be another jimmy carter , who talked tough and had great ideas on paper but never really fixed anything . In my opinion , i have not seen a candidate like barack since Kennedy . And if you rember kennedy did not have much experence either and he was very young .

    John Kerry more like.

    A TOTAL liberal ELITIST.

Nope. The difference is that Kennedy and Carter were presidents. Unless McCain keels over Obama won’t win the GE.

obama is far better than kennedy

  • smartbagel said:

Could be, but the odds really are against him in the GE, to many angry Hillary supports.

JFK would have viewed Barrack worthy of being pursued by McCarthy

Kennedy was a mediocre president at best. He had looks and charisma but as a politician he fell short of the mark. So, in that sense Obama is like Kennedy.
    Peanut man? He is irrelevant.

Obama doesnt even have great ideas on paper like Carter had. All the guy does is chant about some mysterious “change”

Barack Obama is neither the next Kennedy or Carter. They both won. Obama is the next George McGovern.

He’s not a very good candidate and it showed when Hillary made things too close for comfort. He won’t win a general election against McCain.

There is nothing about Obama that can be compared to Kennedy. As far Kennedy being the greatest president to date that is just to far fetched he had just as many failures as successes in fact the “Bay of Pigs” fiasco will dog his memory forever. His personal life was despicable and the fact that he expanded the Viet Nam war which the party has tried to hang on Ike & LBJ. He also enslaved the black population to welfare which he increased 100 fold. Now for Obama ?????? he has a lovely voice and has proven just how far to the left the Democratic party has drifted.

When you compare him with Kennedy just remember, The Kennedy’s have always been involved in scandal. President Kennedy even made his own brother Attorney general just out of school with no experience. Does this mean maybe Obama might make Wright one of his cabinet members or maybe just his “spiritual adviser” The Kennedy’s have always “bought” their way out of trouble. So when you compare the two be careful. The Kennedy’s were rich and powerful maybe he just might fit the “Kennedy ticket” he has a good start….Scandal and wright.

Jimmy Carter Part 2. JFK had 12 years of experience in politics.

  • Dr Jello said:

Kennedy is only considered good because he was killed in office.

Before that happened his approval ratings were lower than Bushes because he promised to support Cuban nationals trained in the US to overthrow Castro, then left them stranded to be assassinated on the beaches of the Bay of Pigs.

The US had to pay dearly to get the captured men back. This showed Khruschchev that Kennedy was weak, so he put nuclear missles in Cuba.

Kennedy resolved this “crisis” he caused but again at a great cost as the US had to close a Russian listening post it had in Turkey.

Another McGovern. He’s gonna lose against McCain.

Speculation aside, Obama has been ill-served by a press corps that seemingly was mesmerized by the large, frenzied crowds who turn out to see the Democratic rock star. Crowds can be deceiving: McGovern, nobody’s idea of a rock star, attracted huge and exuberant crowds throughout the fall of 1972 — on his way to losing 49 states to Richard Nixon.

But I keep hearing the theme from Welcome back Kotter in my head.

President Obama will be a better President than either Kennedy OR Carter.

Kennedy was charismatic, but full of character flaws. he gave great speeches — that other people wrote.

Carter is a brilliant and caring man, who has done more for TRUE liberal causes like peace in the ME, solving hunger around the world, bringing clean drinking water to the poorest countries on earth, and housing the poor. he was saddled with an already-screwed situation when he entered the White House, and couldn’t turn it around in four years before they sent up their mascot, Reagan.

but Obama will be charismatic, humanitarian, AND effective. you will see the first true liberal President… which we could’ve seen 40 years ago, had Bobby Kennedy not been shot.

Kennedy didn’t do much either…..He was killed before he got going good but he did step on some toes for sure…He was going to pull out of Vietnam and he was going to disband the CIA……If that don’t get you killed then go mess with the Mafia…..the govt secret partner…

Whoever did it….I don’t know…but Jack told Jackie that morning in Dallas….This is crazy land…if they kill me…they’ll do it here…

    The rest is history..

Not John Kennedy although Obama would like to portray himself as such. Everything considered, his rhetoric and actions remind me of Carter.

barack obama is definitely the next jimmy carter

john kennedy, hell no, jfk served america in battle. obama doesn’t have the balls to fight america’s enemies.

  • Zeep said:

I think he’s neither. He’s himself. I don’t think Kennedy was a great president – he brought us very close to nuclear war in part due to his inexperience and in part due to the USSR’s perception that he was weak. I don’t remember Carter talking very tough, but hey, that was 30 years ago; I may have forgotten. Kennedy gave great speeches. Obama gives great speeches, with the help of some of Kennedy’s aging speechwriters. Reagan gave great speeches. Speeches don’t accomplish much except to make people feel good.

Hopefully we’ll get to see what he can do starting next year, and hopefully he’ll be a better president than Kennedy or Carter.
